Here’s a simple DTC tip for you: start selling entire cases of product instead of single items! We’ve found that brands who offer the option to buy a case online have doubled the Average Order Value for that product.

Why Cases Work

When you only offer single bottles, you cap your average order value. Many customers, especially those who already know and love your brand, are happy to buy in larger quantities if given the option. Cases offer a natural volume tier that makes sense for the customer and dramatically increases your revenue per transaction.

The Math

If your average bottle price is $40 and a customer buys one bottle, your AOV is $40. Offer a case of 6 at a modest discount ($35 per bottle) and your AOV jumps to $210. That is a 5x increase from the same customer with minimal additional marketing spend.
